تأسست المجلة العراقية للهندسة الميكانيكية وهندسة المواد عام 2000 وهي مجلة علمية محكمة تنشر البحوث العلمية في اختصاصي الهندسة الميكانيكية وهندسة المواد. تصدر المجلة عن كلية الهندسة في جامعة بابل. صدر من المجلة لحد الآن أربعة عشر مجلدا. في بداية تأسيس المجلة كان المجلد الواحد يضم ثلاثة أعداد واعتبارا من المجلد العاشر أصبحت المجلة فصلية تصدر بأربعة أعداد سنويا. توزع المجلة على معظم كليات الهندسة العراقية والكليات والمعاهد التقنية.
